This painting’s name comes from a verse in Psalm 19.

“God's Word is better than a diamond, better than a diamond set between emeralds. You'll like it better than strawberries in spring, better than red, ripe strawberries.” Psalm 19:10 MSG

“Strawberries in Spring” is not only a nod to my faith and reminder to delight in God’s word, but it also pays homage to the sweet and simple moments that we come across each day and may otherwise take for granted unless we stop to appreciate and celebrate them - like the red, ripe strawberries we find at the market in springtime. In this sense, “Strawberries in Spring” is a painting about gratitude.
