“Moments of Rest” was created by tearing up a painting into long strips of canvas before weaving them back together to form a completely new composition. I didn’t know how the finished work would turn out before ripping the pieces apart – I had to release control and trust the process.

I often find myself learning lessons inside the studio that I can apply to every other area of my life. This experience in particulate taught me about surrendering my plans and trusting in God’s. As the finish work came together beautifully, I was reminded that rest can be found in the process of releasing control.
