To create “Lay it Down”, I tore two paintings in half, before bringing them together to create something new. I love how the monochromatic pieces of the composition communicate with one another - creating a sense of cohesion despite their contrasting bright and dark colors.

Overall, this artwork feels like a symbol of surrender and it encourages me to release control inside and outside of the studio.
