“Take The Stairs” is a painting that’s directly inspired by Museo Jumex in Mexico City. The flooring on the lowest level of the museum made a big impression on me when I visited for the first time in 2023. I’d never seen anything like it before - a multi-colored striped floor made of hundreds of long pieces of marble and stone in various colors. It was an inspiring sight and something I wanted to emulate with this collaged canvas.
